Shinji Inoue sits in an MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft at Yokota Air Base Sept. 5 before the opening of the Japanese-American Friendship Festival. Inoue, a member of the Japan House of Representatives, was a special guest who was given a tour of the Osprey the day before the festival. More than 148,000 people attended the festival where there were displays of both U.S. military and Japan Air Self-Defense Force Aircraft. This year marked the first time the Osprey was displayed at the festival. The Osprey is assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
