This photomicrograph of a Flagella stained specimen, reveals the presence of a few, rod shaped, flagellated, Yersinia enterocolitica bacteria, the cause of yersiniosis in humans, as well as many animals. These are peritrichously arranged flagella, emanating from the bacterial capsule in a uniform distribution pattern.
