Beschreibung:
Visvamitra visits Vasishtha's hermitage. This painting, executed in thick, bright colour, is bordered in red and has a thin strip of blue sky across the top in which are wispy white clouds. The four varied trees and four figures stand against a flat yellow background. The hermit stands on the left before his leaf hut, facing the three visitors. Two wear elaborate turbans and robes, while the other is a cow herd wearing simple dress, his two cows beside him. The hermit has painted skin on his torso, arms and face, and his long hair is tied in a bun. He wears a pink cloth skirt, beads and a scarf around his neck. All the figures are painted in profile in the Indian style.
