The village green, Denham. The view is eastwards across the green, with the 'Falcon' and the Village Road on the right. On the face of it, a particularly well-preserved south Buckinghamshire village - but it's not quite as simple as that. In the mid-1930's the place was discovered by the film-maker Alexander Korda, who built studios nearby. Not surprisingly, location shooting often took place in and around the village - no doubt putting a brake on any tendency to change. As a consequence, the village has learnt to live alongside fictionalised versions of itself.
