After the bacon ration was cut to twoounces a fortnight—that is one small slicea week—I came to a brave decision, andam keeping a pig! You have to fill informs, and hand in your bacon ration forsix months, and then you get a permit tokeep and fatten one porker, and slay sameafter four months, and they give you somefood for it also.
