Auszug aus dem von Tanja Sawitschewa geführten Tagebuch während der Belagerung Leningrads

Es folgt eine Übersetzung aus dem Russischen. Erste Zeile:

  1. [Schwester] Shenja starb am 28. Dezember 1941 um 12 Uhr.
  2. Oma starb am 25. Januar 1942 um drei Uhr nachmittags.
  3. [Bruder] Ljoka starb am 17. März 1942 um fünf Uhr nachmittags.
  4. Onkel Wasja starb am 13. April 1942 um zwei Uhr nach Mitternacht.
  5. Onkel Ljoscha starb am 10. Mai 1942 um vier Uhr nachmittags.

Zweite Zeile:

  1. Die Sawitschewy sind tot.
  2. Alle sind tot.
  3. Nur Tanja ist noch übriggeblieben.

This work is in the public domain in the United States, because it was in the public domain in its home country (Russia) on the URAA date (January 1, 1996), and it wasn't re-published for 30 days following initial publications in the U.S.
