Die 3rd Division war eine Infanterie- und später Panzerdivision der British Army. Die Division wurde im Laufe ihrer Geschichte mehrfach umbenannt: 3rd Division von 1907 bis 1976, 3rd Armoured Division von 1976 bis 1992, 3rd (UK) Division von 1992 bis 1999, 3rd (UK) Mechanised Division von 1999 bis 2014 und seit 2014 3rd Division. Sie wurde erstmals im Zweiten Weltkrieg aufgestellt und war von 1976 bis 2015 als Teil der britischen Streitkräfte in Deutschland stationiert. Im Juli 2014 wurde der Verband in 3rd Division, bzw. 3rd Division , umbenannt. Sie ist eine von gegenwärtig zwei aktiven Divisionen der British Army. Das Divisionsabzeichen ist ein auf der Basis stehendes schwarzes gleichseitiges Dreieck, das durch ein aufgelegtes auf der Spitze stehendes rotes gleichseitiges Dreieck, das mit den Spitzen die Dreieckseiten halbiert, in vier gleich große Dreiecke geteilt wird. .. weiterlesen
