The SGI Espressigo was some sort of merchandise article and was sold for ca. 190 DM in Germany, in 2022 about 150 Euros. The one on the picture belongs to Oldenburger Computer Museum and happily serves Espresso each morning. The left machine, an SGI Indigo, is the article which was kind of mocked by the coffee machine (built by the same company Silicon Graphics (SGI)) and was a high end graphics workstation with a Unix operating system. It was one of the first small computers which was powerful enough to calculate (render) 3D scenes in movies and was used, often using many machines as a computing cluster, to produce the computer generated scenes of movies like Jurassic Park.
