O'kono hache cérémonielle Nouvelle Calédonie MHNT
- History: Axe decision in the hands of the chief Kanaka ATAÏ, tribe revolted La Foa, who was killed during the uprising in 1878.
- Description : Ceremonial ax, circular, polished jadeite. Two holes allow attachment of the handle. This one is dressed in a blue hardwood native cloth. Braided cords decorate the determining diamonds. These links are flying fox hair. At the end of the handle which is swollen and hollow, a dark brown wool braided cord wrapping constitutes a decorative ending with four strips the ends of which are hooked shells.
