M61 North through Whittle-le-Woods Cut through sandstone and opened in 1971 the M61 relieved the growing pressure on the A6 through the village of Whittle-le-Woods. This view from the bridge looks up the M61 as it approaches the junctions with the M65 and M6.

Er verbindet den M60 motorway nordwestlich von Manchester mit Preston, wo er in den M6 motorway mündet.
