MetallcarbonyleMetallcarbonyle sind Komplexverbindungen von Übergangsmetallen mit Kohlenstoffmonoxid als Ligand. Die Metalle treten in diesen Verbindungen mit der Oxidationszahl ±0 auf und weichen in ihren Eigenschaften zum Teil erheblich von den klassischen Metallverbindungen ab. Einkernige Metallcarbonyle mit nur einem Zentralatom sind oft gut in organischen Lösungsmitteln löslich und leichtflüchtig.
