Photo of J 35F Adam Yellow from SAF wing F1 in 1972. The photo was taken by then fighter pilot Christer Eklund who has given consent for the picture to be uploaded on commons. Original image uploaded by user Blockhaj (link to original). This version is a refined version of a cropped version uploaded by user FOX 52 (link to cropped version). In the refining, damage, dirt, and (to some extent) noise have been removed through the cloning tool in the paint program paint.net (paint dot net).

Image motif
The image shows a Swedish fighter aircraft of the type Saab 35 Draken (J35F) from the Swedish Air Force's 13. Fighter aircraft division (Adam Yellow). The plane is numbered 68 (Adam 68) and based at Västmanland wing (F 1). Pilot was fighter pilot Håkan Gunnarsson. The picture was taken above the entrance to the port of Swedish town Köping. At the bottom of the picture you can see the small island Runnskär which is just outside of Köping. Above the island is a boat on its way to Köping.

Image information
The image comes from a series of pictures of about 36 pictures taken around 1972-1973 by Eklund. The camera used was apparently a Minolta SRT 101 with 35 mm normal optics. Eklund is said to have taken the picture with an oxygen mask on, which created problems when trying to use the camera's viewfinder. The angle of the image is special as Eklund needed to fly on his back slightly in front of Adam 68 to take it. The image is scanned from a slide.
