Unter dem Titel Nsala of Wala in the Nsongo District erschien 1904 im Werk King Leopold’s Rule in Africa von Edmund Dene Morel ein Foto, das einen Kongolesen namens Nsala bei der Betrachtung eines abgetrennten Fußes und einer abgetrennten Hand seiner etwa fünfjährigen Tochter Boali zeigt.
