Early Rose. A good, sandy loam pro-duces the best potatoes, butthey can be grown on allkinds of soil. New or pas-ture land, with the turffreshly turned, produces thefinest crop. Make furrowsof good depth, three feetapart. Scatter a liberaldressing of phosphate or de-cayed stable manure alongthe drill, and set the seedabout ten inches apart in therows. Cover with about twoinches of soil, and begin tocultivate when the plants arewell up. At each successivehoeing, bring additional soilabout the plants. A changeof seed is the best antidotefor disease. Four barrelsare sufficient to plant one acrein drills. EARLY. Early Rose. The standard variety for earliness, productiveness, and good quality Beauty of Hebron.
