Beschreibung:
Coat of arms of the Estonian Police and the Border Guard Board (formerly the coat of arms of the Estonian police). The police coat of arms is shaped like a shield. The blue background represents a silver lion standing on its hind legs, holding a small national shield with its front legs. The lion has been chosen as a non-cowardly animal due to its inherent qualities of nobility and courage. The lion is also in the coat of arms of the national shield. The upright position of the animal symbolizes the will to act. The lion is represented in silver, since this color symbolizes nobility and masculinity. Maintaining a small national coat of arms between the front legs means being prepared to protect public order and the interests of the state. The background color is blue, which is also one of the colors of the flag, which symbolizes peace and stability. The coat of arms is based on historical traditions, and inspired by the design of the Estonian police badge of the 1930s, which has been heraldically reorganized.
