Stock certificate of Deutsch-Ueberseeische Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft for 1,000 Marks, issued in Berlin in July 1906. With facsimile signature of Arthur von Gwinner (member of the board of Deutsche Bank) as chairman of the supervisory board. The graphic design of the share is by the Art Nouveau artist Otto Eckmann. The purpose of the company, founded by Deutsche Bank and AEG, was the construction of electricity plants, primarily in South America (Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Valparaiso, Montevideo). By far the most important activity later became the supply of electricity to the Argentine capital Buenos Aires. In 1921 it was bought by the Compañía Hispano Americana de Electricidad (CHADE), which was renamed Compañía Argentina de Electricidad (CADE) in 1936.
