Looking eastward along Fourth Avenue (U.S. Routes 12/20) in downtown Gary, Indiana, United States. In the foreground is City Hall and to its right is the Lake County Superior Courthouse; both buildings were built of concrete in 1927 in the Neoclassical style. Along with the buildings to the south, they are part of the Gary City Center Historic District, a historic district that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
