Geschichte AnatoliensDie Geschichte Anatoliens reicht zusammen mit der Vorgeschichte, die durch Fossilien der Gattung Homo und durch steinzeitliche Werkzeugfunde belegt werden kann, mehr als eine Million Jahre zurück. So wurde in vorzeitlichen Ablagerungen des Flusses Gediz das bislang älteste sicher datierte Steinzeitwerkzeug auf türkischem Boden entdeckt, ein rund 1,2 Millionen Jahre altes bearbeitetes Fragment.
