Beschreibung:

A mother teaches her daughter to cross the road in safety during 1942.
A mother helps her daughter cross the road, by explaining that the safest way to cross is via the pedestrian crossing. They are obviously on their way back from shopping, as the mother is carrying a shopping basket full of goods and the child is carrying a large box of cereal. Behind them, another mother pushes a pram across another pedestrian crossing. Note also that the tape on the windows of the houses in the background to prevent blast damage has been applied in a 'spider web' pattern.

This photograph was scanned and released by the Imperial War Museum on the IWM Non Commercial Licence. The image was catalogued by the IWM as created for the Ministry of Information, which was dissolved in 1946. Consequently the image and faithful reproductions are considered Crown Copyright, now expired as the photograph was taken prior to 1 June 1957.
