The oil mine of Sărata Monteoru was built in two stages, starteing in 1925 with the deepening of shafts P.42 and P.50 to about 230m depth and the digging of a complex of galleries at “horizon +44 m”, of which they drilled 85 horizontal wells and 16 descendant wells. The transport of the material is done in the galleries with wagons of about 0.3 m. c. content, on Decauville with a gauge of 0.5 m, while on the shaft with lifts (fig. 12 and 13). A 65 hp electric winch serves the main extraction shaft No.50. At shaft No.42 the old steam winch with wooden buckets has been in operation since the opening of the southern construction site, since the transport of material to the main shaft from here is difficult due to the slope of the gallery.
