The New America ist das elfte Studioalbum der US-amerikanischen Punkrock-Band Bad Religion. Es erschien im Mai 2000 bei Atlantic Records.

Geschichte

Für The New America reist die Band nach Kauai, Hawaii, wo Todd Rundgren die Platte produzierte. Rundgren gehörte zu den Musikern, die Greg Graffin früher bewundert hatte. Allerdings war die Zusammenarbeit aufgrund einiger Differenzen eher enttäuschend.[1] Gleichwohl wurde deren Ergebnis von manchen Kritikern gelobt.[2] Letztmals saß Bobby Schayer am Schlagzeug. Brett Gurewitz, obwohl zu dieser Zeit kein Bandmitglied schrieb an Believe It mit und spielte den Song auch mit ein.

Das Album erreichte in Deutschland Platz 16[3] und in den USA Platz 88.[4]
