Snorralaug, Snorris Bad
Die Snorralaug in Reykholt war im 13. Jahrhundert der Hot Pot (Bad) von Snorri Sturluson und ist das bekannteste von dreizehn Bädern in Island, die man schon aus geschichtlicher Zeit kennt. Nur vier von diesen gibt es heute noch.
Das Bad hat einen Durchmesser von vier Metern und ist bis zu einem Meter tief.

The Book of Settlement mentions the existence of a natural warm pool at Reykholt. The present one supposedly dates back to historian Snorri Sturluson's time in the 13th century. It was restored in 1858 and again in 1959. The pool was used for bathing and relaxing, as written in Sturunga Saga. A tunnel gave easy access to it from the farmhouse, and could also be used as an emergency exit in case of attack. Legend has it that the tunnel led to the cellar where Snorri tried to hide from his enemies, Earl Gissur's men, before being slain by them on 12. September 1241.
