Shepton Mallet ist eine Stadt und ein Civil parish in der Grafschaft Somerset, England. Shepton Mallet ist 42,5 km von Taunton entfernt.[1] Im Jahr 2011 hatte es eine Bevölkerung von 10.369.[2] Shepton Mallet wurde 1086 im Domesday Book als Sepetone/Sepetona erwähnt.[3]

The car-free marketplace and floral decorations of Shepton Mallet, a small town on the edge of the Mendip Hills in Somerset, UK. The town is marked in the Domesday Book of 1086 and successive market charters were granted in 1235, 1260 and 1318. The principal industry was the wool trade through the Middle Ages; later, brewing and shoemaking became important.
