Der Turnwettkampf am Barren der Männer bei den Olympischen Spielen 2020 in Tokio wurde am 3. August 2021 im Ariake Gymnastics Centre ausgetragen. Die Qualifikationsrunde erfolgte am 24. Juli 2021.
Die Wertung einer Übung setzte sich zusammen aus dem Schwierigkeitsgrad (D-Score) und der Ausführung (E-Score), die zur Gesamtwertung addiert und von der evtl. Strafpunkte abgezogen wurden. Sollten zwei Turner die gleiche Gesamtpunktzahl haben, gab die höhere Wertung der Ausführung den Ausschlag.
Der Chinese Zou gewann seine erste olympische Einzelmedaille. Für Lukas Dauser war es die erste Medaille bei Olympischen Spielen. Ferhat Arıcan war der erste türkische Turner, dem es gelang eine Medaille in seiner Sportart zu gewinnen. Die Siegerehrung erfolgte im Anschluss an den Wettkampf im Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Die Medaillen überreichte Jean-Christophe Rolland, französisches IOC-Mitglied, begleitet von Luo Chaoyi, Mitglied des Exekutivkomitees der FIG aus China.
