- ↑ Lord Gosford trat im November während der Niederkanada-Rebellion zurück. Colborne wurde zum Oberbefehlshaber der britischen Truppen und vorübergehend zum Gouverneur ernannt, um die Rebellionen von 1837 niederzuschlagen. Nach Wiederherstellung der Ordnung in Nieder- und Oberkanada blieb er bis zur Ankunft von Lord Durham im Amt.
