Die De Havilland DH.94 Moth Minor war ein Schulflugzeug, welches im Zweiten Weltkrieg zur Pilotengrundausbildung im Vereinigten Königreich und in Australien verwendet wurde.

Geschichte

Von September 1938 bis 1939 wurden in England nur 73 Exemplare, davon 63 als Trainingsflugzeug und zehn weitere als Reiseverkehrsflugzeug produziert. Ab 1939 wurde die weitere Fertigung nach Australien verlegt. Dort entstanden die restlichen 42 Exemplare dieses Typs. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg gingen fast alle Flugzeuge, bis auf ein paar Dutzend, verloren.

De Havilland DH-94 Moth Minor at Melton Airport. This Moth Minor is actually a pre-war civil import. It was allocated the UK rego G-AFNN to the Hull Aero Club in 1939 but appears to have been deregistered the same day. It was registered VH-ACR on 17 Jan '40 until impressed as the last of the RAAF's Moth Minors A21-42 in Nov '41. Returned after the war to VH-ACR '45 until withdrawn in '47. Restored at Caboolture '03-'08. Seen here getting airborne for a display at the Houdini-Centenary Air Show.
