Barbara Levick

Barbara Mary Levick (* 21. Juni 1931 in London) ist eine britische Althistorikerin.

Barbara Levick erhielt ihre Ausbildung an der Brighton and Hove High School und am St Hugh’s College in Oxford. Sie war Lecturer in Classics von 1956 bis 1959. Seit 1959 war Levick bis zu ihrer Emeritierung 1998 Fellow des St Hilda’s College, Oxford. Ebenfalls war Levick von 1956 bis 1991 Bibliothekarin am St Hilda’s College. Levick wurde bekannt durch zahlreiche Biographien über römische Kaiser und Eroberer. Sie legte nach Tiberius the Politician von 1976 und Claudius von 1990 mit Vespasian^[1] ihre dritte große Kaiserbiographie vor.
