LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT: SOLID ADENOCARCINOMA WITH MUCIN PRODUCTION

This poorly differentiated (solid) adenocarcinoma shows many cells with mucin vacuoles stained with digested PAS. The vacuoles were difficult to see on routine sections, and the case had originally been classified as large cell carcinoma.
